Blog Twins

Hello friends.

I just made a most fantastic discovery.

First, some news. For the summer months of 2011, I will be interning at Massachusetts General Hospital with Dr. George Chen. I'll be a part of a medical imaging research group developing a 4D imaging system for more accurate tumor treatment. Sound awesome? Sound intense? Sound frightfully intimidating?? That's because it is. Yes, I am majoring in Biomedical Engineering, but I'll be a little Utah Rainbow Trout in the great Atlantic ocean just outside of Boston Harbor. They normally take two interns per year, and between last year's interns being from MIT and my counterpart for this year studying at Harvard, I have one thought left in my empty head.

Holy cow.

I'm incredibly excited and scared out of my mind. An interesting combination, yes, but in the end, they both result in losing one's lunch. Hopefully I can keep it down a while longer.

Now, on to the magical small world story of the day.

I have just found out that my dearest cousin, Tim Eaton, will also be interning at Mass General this summer. No, we're not really cousins, but my great-aunt is married to his uncle, so we'll take it. How did two kids from Perry, UT end up in this situation? I chalk it all up to luck. Now here's the kicker: The same day I started this, my first blog, Timothy was also beginning his first blog. We make quite a team, Tim-twin. Twim.

Later days.

  1. Your internship is SO much cooler than mine! It's going to be great! We'll have to go to Mike's pastries. They have the best cannolis in Bean Town.

  2. Hi Rhiannon, this is Tim's sister Arianne. (I saw your blog through Tim's). We both took violin lessons from Diane. Anyway, I'm excited for your internship and it's going to be awesome! Boston is so much fun (I lived there for a year--and that's where I met my husband) and you'll have a blast. And, you're definitely just as smart as the MIT/Harvard folk (really you are, I met a bunch of them while I was living there) so don't worry. Have a great summer!
